CFEclipse 1.3 thoughts

Submitted by Falken on

As I'm sure you've all noticed by now, the number one IDE (all right, IDE plugin) for ColdFusion developers, CFEclipse, has been updated to version 1.3, but what does this mean for your daily life ?

By accident, I noticed that pressing F1 while in a tag no longer fires up the browser - you get nice help in a new side panel. This should mean no more flicking back to Adobe's site to look up something, hurrah !

I also notice that it seems to be a lot faster and more responsive as well.

I also noticed the very handy 'find file' short cut (ctrl-shift-r) still needs removing from CFE's shortcut list so the main short cut works.

The CFUnit intergration is great- allowing you to run your unit tests right from in Eclipse - we're trying out unit tests (as oppesed to a CFML file that calls methods and CFDUMPs the result) with our current project, but that's a whole post in itself.

A big thank you needs to go out to Mark Drew for hacking on CFE for the last, umm, forever, and playing such a good game this week while we waited for it to be finished.
