Sometimes when installing an AIR application, the installer refuses to proceed with the mysterious 'Error# 5100'.
This doesn't appear to be documented anywhere, but it actually means the temporary file space is full (i.e. /tmp/ on Linux).
Guess the 100meg cap on my tmpfs wasn't enough, eh :-)

OR try a different browser, or try clearing your browser cache.

sudo Adobe\ AIR\ Application\ Installer /full/path/file.air
Depending on what the generic
Depending on what the generic code was actually meaning, it might, yes. At the very least tunning from the command line might reveal some out put that was hidden.
