Sometimes when installing an AIR application, the installer refuses to proceed with the mysterious 'Error# 5100'.
This doesn't appear to be documented anywhere, but it actually means the temporary file space is full (i.e. /tmp/ on Linux).
Guess the 100meg cap on my tmpfs wasn't enough, eh :-)

It's true that this is one situation in which error 5100 is used, but it's not the only one. 5100 is actually a generic "install failed" code that's used in a variety of situations.

I'm not an expert by any means but I got this error code in linux and it was just because I was installing as a user that didn't have permission to install

Depending on what the generic
Depending on what the generic code was actually meaning, it might, yes. At the very least tunning from the command line might reveal some out put that was hidden.
