Q. When is the ColdFusion administrator password not the ColdFusion administrator password ?
A. When the password contains a £ sign.
Turns out, oddly, that if when you install ColdFusion 8 (.0.1 on SLES, if it makes any odds) you create an administrator password with a '£' in it, it wont then let you into the final web-based set up step.
The same applies when entering a new password into the administrator itself.

Try using the $ (Dollar
Try using the $ (Dollar sign) instead. It is half the price. ;)
