Adobe's asdoc tool makes JavaDoc-like Flex docs, now on Linux

Hurrah !
As of Flex 2.0.1 hotfix 2 the 'asdoc' tool now works on Linux. This means the people who I think care most about having code-level docs (Adobe's asdoc JavaDoc alike on Linux) can now get them.

Oh, and there are some bug and memory leak fixes too :-)

Building ColdFusion services with ColdSpring and Reactor, part 3

Our previous article discussed the top-most tier in the stack, Services, and it is to the next layer, the Managers, that we now turn.

Managers are tasked with implementing the buisness process for a single task, observing any rules such as change logging. They hold all your logic about how to actually do the things the client asked the Service to do i.e. update the database via the Data layer, send a notification and then update something else.

No CF8 BoF session at Scotch

That's right, the ColdFusion 8 'birds of a feather' session has been called off. It's been replaced with free food and beer.

This is horrible, horrible news. Maybe I should stay home....

Microsoft Silverlight makes Flex a 'toy', does it ?

According to a report here, Michael Arrington from TechCrunch claims MicroSoft's attempt to fend Flex off has already won.

BBC's iPlayer moves forwards again, still stupid though

According to this article, iPlayer is now all-systems-go for a launch later this year.
On Windows only. And it wont have some things that are on 'listen again', because of a stupid non-reason.
