Intresting...

... I pop off for a week with the in laws and come back to start up iMP to rewatch Doctor Who's Xmas special, and find it's now limiting itself to one download at once.
Still has some sort of half-arsed auto-throttle thingy.

PS K-9 returns next year, rar !
PPS Linux runs "very well thank you" on IBM's new Cell processor according to a friend at IBM we saw. Ha har :-)

Rar !

"delighted to let you know that we've been granted an extension until February 28th 2006"

New version in January too...

Aww, nice Zen...

... our ISP is changing the IP of it's name servers and I hadn't got round to updating the server yet, so they notice and auto-opened a support ticket for me about it :-)

Woa !

What's the first thing that happens when the server is back on ?
The mail server starts boucing spam (to BlueFrog - go install it !), and Something Nasty from 203.145.133.246 tries (and fails) to get in):

Dec 17 17:27:03 bookcase spamd[1029]: result: Y 29 - BAYES_99,BODY_8BITS,CHARSET_FARAWAY, CHARSET_FARAWAY_HEADER,INVALID_MSGID, MIME_CHARSET_FARAWAY,NO_REAL_NAME,RAZOR2_CF_RANGE_51_100, RAZOR2_CHECK,RCVD_IN_BL_SPAMCOP_NET, UNWANTED_LANGUAGE_BODY,URIBL_OB_SURBL,URIBL_SBL,URIBL_SC_SURBL scantime=8.9,size=2437,mid=<20030413202435.37313mail@mail.love-sexlife88545879889_woman-server889_womansystem01_woman-sexlife-love.tv>,bayes=0.999999470421768,autolearn=no

Nervous

Our creaking power supply in the server seems to have given up the ghost, a mere two weeks before we can get our hands on a new server (donated from Rachael's parent's work in return for networking their house).
So it's been down since the wee hours today, and is now running on our spare one - kept from the previous server because this one made such funny noises, boy am I glad I did that !

Anyway, if you visit, that's why there is a more whirring than usual from upstairs, and also why emailing us may have been slow.
