I've returned my E808 handset
Turns out you can't upgrade handset at the end of friends and family, as I wanted to do to get an A920 :-(

So, bearing in mind the coverage checker* says no coverage till >April '04, I'll probably be off to get a P900 soon. Although this will be initaly more expensive, the tarifs for data are better (in this case 'better' meant 'can actualy use'), plus I can actualy use the web/Java apps with it.

*mind you, the checker says Street has no coverage, but Rachael can use her phone there fine !

Digitising everything you see, for 80 years, 16 hours a day, at 512Kbps requires 97TB of data capacity. At the rate at which data densities are growing, that will be possible in 14 years.

Soon you could have a device which would give you the perfect memory for your lifetime. At any point in your life, you can look back and see exactly what you were doing at any given time. Also, it stays in your backpack while you access its content by bashing away on a (spare public) wireless keyboard and peering into a similarly equipped monitor.


Or a public display screen. Such a system might be able to detect and utilise any local hardware. At the airport, it would transmit your personal itinerary, cross-referenced with flight and gate information from a local server, onto the monitor you happen to be standing under.
