Argh ! I got held up outside Denton by some muppets doing a car census. I'm moving away in 2 weeks, plus the journey I was doing was atypical, and I told the bloke so. He shoved the paper in the car anyway. I chucked it out the window and drove off, as the ligts had just changed.

Well, I've made a video call ! I had to go and stand on a hill to get any Three coverage around Kendal, but that is to be expected up north.
It was a really cool, geeky, experience - Rachael had to be in central Manchester, as we have an issue on our home cell though.

I *was* expecting that providing I was in coverage, it would all Just Work.
I've excepted (now) that this is not always the case - although Wheezy seems to have no issue at all in central Manchester, so I'm going to carry on trying to get our home cell sorted.

I still think that 3 is one of the most exciting things to be happening and involved in (making a video call from a mobile - how SciFi is that !) at the moment, and tbh, it may just be funky enough for me to grin and bear the issues.

Oh, the fun of being an early adopter, with handsets that were released too early so as to meet an artifical deadline.

If I was one of the punters who had sheveled out 200 quid plus for a handset, and another 60 quid a month, I'd be very upset and leaning much more towards returning it.

As it is, a carrying case should be on the market soon, and most of the handset issues should be fixable over the air, so I'm leaning away from a P800 again.

... no carrying pouch, so I expect the rear (external when closed) camera to get scratched within a short time.

Guess I'll have to build one...
