I hate planning things
Submitted by Falken on Tue, 25/11/2003 - 12:50.Because it then looks so easy and simple on the bit of paper, and then you go to write it, and get all boged down in the language.
Bah.
I hate PL/SQL almost as much as Oracle.
Dear DBA...
Submitted by Falken on Tue, 11/11/2003 - 14:23.Don't change all the permissions and passwords, then fuck off to lunch without telling anyone.
Now I can't do anything as I can't grant the permissions to the role, because there is a lock. And apperently select permissions on v$lock are too dangerous to give out.
I think I may be having a bad afternoon.
Oh for *fucks* sake
Submitted by Falken on Tue, 11/11/2003 - 14:16.From piece of paper attached to a list of everyone in the office and a 'sign me' note:
"Mobile Phone Policy
The company fully supports this legislation and insists that all employees abide by this new law.
Specifically but not exclusively, we require that:"
...and goes onto the detail of the latest pointless addition to the nanny state's statute book.
Why anyone feels the need to goveren *my* use of *my* phone in *my* car in *my* time I've no idea :-(
And to think I said in a recent questionnaire that the paper work wasn't 'too intrusive'.
This comes on top of a recent idea to set-up a spread sheet to track where we are, in parellel to the existing computerised system and paper work(!) to book days off into it.
It's not like I'm ever doing work _outside_ the office. If I'm not here (check the existing systems), I'm on holiday and fielding all but the most exciting work calls.
:grrs
If only everything if life was so cheap
Submitted by Falken on Tue, 11/11/2003 - 14:06.Only 40 quid to stop the horriable 2000rpm rattle on the car, and reseal the water logged distributor that was making it jump like Zebedee on E.
Rar.
Unfortunetly, the P900 phone came out this week, so that'll soak up the excess cash I saved over what I was expecting it to cost (near new car levels of money).
