I think the FIA have woken up, but I don't agree with their new stance.
No spare cars ? What happens if something happens to the car after qualifing
and before the race, like some git pokes a hole in it (by accident !) ?

The statement also says that the public neither know or care about the techs
in the back of the pit. *I* know, lots of people know. And we care, because
the tech. is what makes F1 great.

How do you demonstrate 5), without software inspection ? Plus, they've tried
that before and couldn't enforce it, what makes them think they can do it now
? Teams will just do it in hardware, or as an accidental spin off of their
engine design :-)

Losing automati gear+clutch is a top idea too.

Stricter enforcement all round is good too.

I fail to see how any of this will stop a certain red team from winning again though.
